Support Association Charta

The primary goal of the association is to support the AWS community in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and to provide a platform for exchange and networking.

This is largely driven by the members (AWS Heroes, AWS Community Builder, AWS User Group Leader) in an autonomous and self-determined manner. The association serves as a "facilitator" (in the sense of process facilitator and coordinator) and designs offers in various initiatives that can, but do not have to, be accepted by the members. It is particularly important to emphasize that the association aims to facilitate networking with each other (and with AWS) without influencing or even undermining the profile of the respective groups/individuals.

FAQ

  • The AWS Community sees itself as an extension of the resources provided by AWS. In other words, where the AWS documentation may end or the official communication for builders and decision-makers does not seem sufficient, the community begins to take effect. The community appreciates the (preliminary) work and performance of all people at and around AWS and is fair, honest, and open in its communication. Cooperation with all those involved is always characterized by respect for one another.

  • In order to be able to take on the role of facilitator in the spirit of the association and not be forced into an execution role, we need people who can drive forward the implementation independently and with their own ideas. While AWS has a large number of community programs, these three programs were chosen (at the current time), as the people in these programs drive all relevant AWS community initiatives in the DACH region. The association will regularly review the program selection and make any necessary changes. Everyone is encouraged to discuss and address possible improvements here.

  • In addition to the exchange among each other in a regular call, the support association offers access to experienced people on every aspect of AWS community events, initiatives and ideas.

In addition, there are various actual “asset” offers such as Canva and logo templates.

  • The AWS Community Lounge as part of the AWS Summit and the AWS Community Day DACH are large cross-regional events that are very relevant for the awareness and success of the AWS Community. These events are only possible through close coordination with many stakeholders and therefore different people from the various AWS community areas have come together to organize these events even before the association was founded. A key finding from organizing several Community Days over the years was that the finances of such an event can be made easier, better and faster by a legal entity. Thus, a group of people formed the Förderverein as a legal entity in order to pass on their many years of experience to multipliers in the AWS community.
